Collection of abstracts of contracts, compiled at local records office, in Ptolemaic times, most apparently refering to the 125th-26th year of Euergetes I. Also included ar leases of cleruchic land in the division of Themistes, abstracts of loans, short accounts, dowries and marriage contracts, sales of fruit and grape gardens, vineyards.
Translation: Panemos, Hathyr 1st. Parmenon, Macedonian, one of the persons not yet admitted to the hipparchy, 100-arouras-holder (?), has leased to Andronikos son of Basilides, Cyrenaean, from his own holding that he own near the village Philopator, the half part, the rent being 3 artabas of wheat without seed, free from all loss, (…). Charge 1 dr. Keeper of the contract, Agathon, 100-arouras-holder. Tryphon son of Anaximenes, xx of the epigone, has leased to Simon son of Antipater, Persian of the epigone, and to Zenodotos son of Charidemos, Thracian of the epigone, from his 100-arouras cleruchis holding that he owns near the village Kerkeosiris, 27 arouras, which are based on land measurement (geometria), the boundaries of which are, on the north .., east .., west, south the dry land of the holding (…), the rent of each aroura being 5 1/2 artabas of wheat without seed; and they will harvest the wheat and they will give at the time when Tryphon orders them (to do so) in the 26th year and they will deliver it to the granary in Alexandria, and if they do not harvest (…) 10 drachmas, how often they want, with the seed which they choose except sesame. Penalty for the rents for Kerkeosiris, 30 drachmas. Charge 1 drachma, 1 obol. Keeper of the contract is Agathon, 100-arouras-holder. 6th. Nikostratos son of Monimos, Thracian of the epigone, has leased to Bar[--] son of Ammonios, Idymenaean, the fig-plantation which he has … 8 artabas of wheat and 2 drachmas of coined bronze, which he will pay in Xandikos, which is Mesore in the Egyptian calendar, or whenever the release is made from the king, in the holding. Charge 5 obols. Keeper of the contract, Platon son of Timagenes. 7th. Nikanor son of Menon, Alexandrian not yet admitted to the deme Ammonieus, one of the first class from the Hermopolite nome of the troop of Menelaos and 100-arouras-holder, has sold to Apollodoros son of Neoptolemos, Thracian, Dorion son of Theon, Cretan of the epigone, and Ptolemaios son of Dorion, Cretan of the epigone, the produce of all the fruit-trees and all the vines of the garden at the village of Arsinoe at a total rent of .. Drachmas of bronze, on condition that they shall pay the dues to the treasury from the produce of the garden. They shall pay everything in the month Thoth …, and shall deliver as extras fruit from the date plantation.
