Howard De Nike is a lawyer and scholar who worked on the Presidio 27 case in the 1970s. He was born in 1942 in The Bronx, New York before moving to California with his family. He attended law school at the University of San Francisco in the mid-1960s. In this interview, he discusses his early life, his education, his career as a lawyer, and working as a staff attorney for the Office of Neighborhood Legal Assistance, where he was assigned the Presidio 27 case.
