Bob Heady was a longtime employee of the East Bay Regional Park District, where he worked in the Police Department. In this interview, he discusses his early life, his family and their history, his education, joining the Army in 1967, his service in the Vietman War, receiving his teaching credentials, working in law enforcement in Santa Barbara, moving to the Bay Area in 1981, joining the EBRPD Police Department, working as a sergeant for seventeen years, working on the special enforcement unit, involvement with the union, his wrongful termination suit in 2004 and subsequent retirement, and spending time in the district as a park user now.
