Jim Lee is a San Francisco native who worked for the San Francisco Fire Department (SFFD) for thirty-eight years. He retired as a captain in 2006 and helped found the SFFD Museum. In this interview, Lee discusses his childhood and education, testing and training for the SFFD, roles and responsibilities, side work as a construction plumber, SFFD leadership, working at different stations, police and fire strikes, rising through the ranks, 9/11, founding the SFFD Museum, and retirement and reflections.
