Description
Jean Allen was born in Brownsville, Oregon during the Great Depression and was raised by a single mother in Lebanon, Oregon. She worked as an usherette at a movie theater before moving to Vancouver, Washington to work in the Kaiser shipyards during WWII. She talks about her experiences working as a welder, her husband getting drafter, co-workers and training, and working in a sawmill, as well as her memories of the end of the war.
