Description
Bruce Henstell was a sophomore at Berkeley and writer for the Cal humor magazine, The Pelican, where he collaborated with David Goines. As a precocious science fiction fan and radio producer at KPFK in Los Angeles, he had met and was influenced by veteran Cal politicos Mike Tigar and Ken Cloke. He was recruited by SLATE to run for, and was elected to, the ASUC representing students from independent and commuter living groups. In addition to talking about his experiences during critical moments in the FSM, he discusses his disillusion with Democratic Party politics and the culture of student life.
