Description

Warren Hellman’s oral history consists of twelve interviews totaling 23 hours of video recordings. The interviews were conducted between March and October 2011 in Warren’s office by Lisa Rubens, historian and interviewer with The Oral History Center of The Bancroft Library. Throughout these interviews Warren, in his inimitable style — incisive, humorous, and sharp-witted — reflects on his storied life, including his family background, hellion youth, prodigious Commerce, Industry, and Labor career, creative and generous philanthropic and community activities, and especially his music.
