Leon Mason was born in the 1920s and graduated from Commerce High School in San Francisco in 1940. After his graduation, Mason worked a variety of jobs and eventually joined the CCC. In 1942, he began working at the Kaiser Shipyards in Richmond before transferring to Marinship. In this interview, Mason discusses alphabet agencies, his experience in the CCC, San Francisco during the war, working in the shipyards, and his time in the Navy.
