Edythe Esser was born in San Pablo, California in 1922. Edythe worked in prefabrication in the Kaiser Shipyards during the war. She discusses applying and training at the shipyards; swing shift; worker apparel; Kaiser health plan during war; romance at the shipyards; and difficulty accepting the end of war work.
