Warren Rudman, a Republican, served as one of New Hampshire's U.S. Senators from 1980 to 1993. During his two terms Rudman co-sponsored the Balanced Budget and Emergency Deficit Control Act of 1985 and chaired the Senate Ethics Committee. In this interview, Senator Rudman recounts the creation of the Balanced Budget and Emergency Deficit Control Act (Gramm Rudman Hollings) of 1985 and reflects on the changing nature of U.S. fiscal policy.
