Description

James McGrath was born in Washington while his father worked at the Hanford nuclear facility. He was raised in Los Angeles and attended UC Berkeley during the 1960s. He then worked for the Environmental Protection Agency and the California Coastal Commission. He was hired by the Port of Oakland at Environmental Manager in 1990. In his capacity as port Environmental Manager he played a role in the realignment of the Oakland Army Base from military to civilian use.
