Description
Michael Lamborn was a Napa Valley vintner of the Lamborn Family Vineyards, founded by his father Robert in 1971. Born in 1946 in Berkeley, California, Lamborn briefly attended Merritt College in Oakland before enlisting in the United States Coast Guard, later returning to the Bay Area and earning his bachelor’s degree from San Francisco State University. At the request of his father, he purchased property in Angwin, California, and helped establish the family winery, eventually passing on some responsibilities to his sons Matt and Brian. In this interview, Lamborn discusses his family history and early education, the first vintage in 1982, daily responsibilities at the winery, neo-Prohibitionist movements, and the future of Lamborn Family Vineyards.
