Description

John T. Knox served in the U.S. Army Air Corps in World War II and graduated from Occidental College in Los Angeles and Hastings College of the Law in San Francisco. He began practicing law in Richmond in the early 1950s and was active in Democratic Party elections and politics at every level of government. Although he represented the Richmond area in the California state assembly from 1961 to 1980, the interview focuses on the Richmond community: politics, labor unions, school board, newspaper, public housing, voter registration, health care, and Commerce, Industry, and Labor climate.
