Milo Shepard was a relative of Jack London and director of the Jack London Estate. His grandmother was Eliza London, Jack London’s half sister. Born in 1925 in Jack London’s Beauty Ranch, Shepard received a B.S. from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, and then returned to the ranch to become a California State Park Ranger. In 1975, Shepard became the executor of Jack London's literary estate. He worked over the years to provide accurate information to many authors who wrote books and articles about London. In this interview, Shepard discusses the Jack London Jamily, childhood memories in the London Ranch, London biographers and scholarship, and the development of the Jack London State Park.
