Stanley Nystrom was a lifelong resident of Richmond, California whose family first came to the city during the nineteenth century. Nystrom was born in Richmond in 1920 and retired from his career as a Mare Island engineer in 1979. In this interview, Nystrom discusses his family history in Richmond, prewar Richmond, industries in the city, Richmond during World War II, the city after the war, and redevelopment in the 1960s.
