Helen R. Henshaw was the wife of Paul C. Henshaw, the president, CEO, and chairman of Homestake Mining. Henshaw was born in 1916 and spent her childhood in Claremont, California. She attended Scripts College and the University of California Los Angeles from 1933 to 1937. In 1938 she met Paul C. Henshaw and they were married soon thereafter. Henshaw moved with her husband to his various mining jobs which resulted in her living in Peru and Mexico. In this interview, Henshaw discusses her childhood in Claremont, education at UCLA and Scripts, meeting Paul C. Henshaw, Paul at CalTech, 1936-1940, Cerro de Pasco Corporation and life in Peru, San Luis Mining in Mexico, uranium exploration in the Colorado Plateau, 1950s, time with the Homestake Mining Company, and her honors and community service.
