Albert Brown was the head of Corporate-Securities Practices at the law firm Pillsbury, Madison & Sutro. Born in 1914, Kragen grew up in San Francisco and earned his undergraduate and law degrees from the University of California, Berkeley in 1937 and 1940 respectively. In 1942, he began working at Pillsbury, Madison & Sutro, where he would eventually head the division responsible for representing companies like Standard Oil, Pacific Telephone & Telegraph, and Boeing. In this interview, Brown discusses his private practice in Jackson, California, merger and acquisition law at PM&S, FMC [Food, Machinery, and Chemical Corp.] acquisition of American Viscose, the Iran Consortium, the Chevron-Gulf merger, and 1978 SEC action against Boeing.
