Interviews conducted in l982 by Fred A. Cline, Jr. Copy of photograph inserted. Donated Oral Histories Collection. Growing up in Pacific Grove, Sebastopol and Santa Rosa; teaching in country school in Oregon in Finnish community; study of physiotherapy during World War I and rehabilitation work with U.S. Army after the war; marriage and move to Carmel in l924; Noël Sullivan and the musical community there; travels in Mexico, Europe, Alaska, etc.: establishment of Barn Door Canteen in Carmel during World War II; purchase and operation of Fields Book Store in San Francisco. With this, as v. 2 (box): documents supporting the interview, including letters from Noël Sullivan and Lotte Lehmann, and from Finnish people, clippings, etc.
