Wanda Sankary was an attorney elected to the California State Assembly in 1954 who served one two-year term. Born in 1919 on a farm south of Scranton, North Dakota, Sankary attended San Diego State College from 1937 to 1939 and the University of California, Berkeley from 1939 to 1941 before graduating from law school at the University of Southern California in 1950. She worked as an attorney at Sankary and Sankary until 1975. In this interview, Sankary discusses her education and legal practice, politics and parenthood, her candidacies for California Assembly, and her experiences as a legislator.
