East 14th [i.e. Fourteenth] St. and 17th [i.e. Seventeenth] Ave. (To report a fire, one rushed to the fire alarm box, to read the notice "Key at corner," and then had to go to the house on the corner -- "you had to be a mystic to know which one" -- for the key and then rush back to the box to turn on the alarm.)
