Full title: San Francisco-Oakland Terminal Railways ferry steamer "Claremont." Built at Alameda, Calif. in 1907. Hull of wood, 189 ft. long; 38 ft. beam; 19 ft. depth. 1138 G.T. 774 N.T. Double compound engines, 20 x 42 in. dia. cyl., 28 in. stroke. 2200 I.H.P. Two Stirling Water-Tube boilers. Shell 15.9 ft. long. 200 lb. water press. This was one of two sister boats built by the Key Route to take care of the increase in traffic after the 1906 fire in San Francisco. Is now owned by the Southern-Pacific-Golden Gate Ferries, Ltd. D.L. Joslyn collection.
