Formerly identified, in the Graves collection inventory, as "Black Point. Selby Smelter. Larkin and Polk Streets, ca. 1865." The point where the smelter was located is east of Black Point, and obscures Black Point in this view. A researcher has identified the first Dolphin Swimming and Rowing Club boathouse in this view (light color, just left of center), yielding a date of 1878-1885.
