Monterey Cypress windbreak near Oxnard, Ventura County, trimmed off below to retain thrifty foliage near ground. A row of giant bamboo in the background does not show in the picture but added nothing to the effectiveness of the windbreak. There is very little evidence of root competition by windbreak rows of Monterey Cypress with the protected crop. No evidence of damage by Cypress beetle was seen in the coast section. July 1926.
