Shipping lumber by flume from Sugar Pine to Madera. The crew is just wedging a bundle preparatory to dropping it into the flume. Note iron clamp on end of package and the twist of rope held between the boards which is used to tie the bundles together. Low grade boards are put on the outside of the package as wear in the 60 mile flume journey is considerable. Widest Sugar Pine clears are hauled by truck. May, 1925.
