The square rod in the foreground haas just been marked for cutting. There will be cut 15 lagging poles (at the rate of 2400 per acre); four of the best trees will be left together with twenty one badly surpressed trees not yet big enough for logging and too small to interfere with the growth of the four good crowned trees left.
