Title
In the background is shown the character of the timber on this tract. The stand is about 150 years old, practically pure Douglas fir averaging about 26" in diameter and 125 feet in height. Many of the trees are cut into one log and thus loaded on the trucks and but few are cut into more than two logs. The photo is taken on the edge of the hill bordering the Columbia though most of the tract is on the plain above which is very simple logging.
