Three different species of the southern hemisphere conifer, genus Araucaria, in the 300 block, Montecito St., Santa Barbara. From left to right they are Araucaria excelsa, Araucaria bidwillii and Araucaria cookii. The middle one was removed the day after this picture was taken as the owner did not like the way it produced the large and heavy cones. Van Rensselaer says that the tufted foliage of the Araucaria cookii is typical of this species. Metcalf.
