Granger's warehouse and wharf, after it collapsed with a store of grain due to teredos having eaten off submerged portions of supporting piles. Port Costa, California. November 27, 1920. E.F. [Handwritten addendum to caption reads:] The further sheds were originally attached to these from under which the photo was taken. This further [sic] is now floating on the water, the pile having broken off completely. The outer shed has entirely collapsed. The men are tearing up the floor of the remaining structure preparatory to driving new piles under the standing structure to prevent it from collapsing as did the other portion.
