Title
Dry rot in redwood bark. The rot is in a layer 1/4" thick just outside the inner bark. Entire bark was 2"-3" thick. Log 46" in diameter. The second log was peeled. Note dark area indicating cleavage along rot seam, the inner bark remaining in place. Dry rot area has dried and has curled up in flakes. Rot in this case extended from ground 78 feet upward. 5-3-36.
