Biographical NoteSan Francisco businessman and "49er". German-born Eggers married Sophia Ehrenpfort in San Francisco in July of 1854. [See Alonzo Phelps, Contemporary biography of California's representative men, v. 2 p. 281-].

(we have an original photo of the house). I may have been wrong about "sheriff", although I think he did serve a term as such. Accompanying note (handwritten): Mrs. S.
