Biographical NoteCaptain of the steamer Independence in 1851, and a member of the San Francisco Committee of Vigilance of 1851. Author of The log of an ancient mariner : being the life and adventures of Captain Edgar Wakeman, 1878.. Mary Eliza Wilson Wakeman was the daughter of San Francisco pioneer General John Wilson.
