Account of arrival in California in 1833; work with various officials and in several missions;and career as justice of the peace in Monterey and San Luis Obispo. Comments also on Micheltorena revolt, Fremont, the American occupation, the constitutional convention, and the Committee of Vigilance in San Diego.
Original documents removed from the dictation constitute v.2. Include letter from J.B. Alvarado, Nov. 1851; draft of letter by Ezquer, Aug. 27, 1850; Florencio Serrano's announcement of Ezquer's election as alcalde, Monterey, July 8, 1849; power of attorney from Ezquer to Nicolas Castro, signed by Jacinto Rodriguez, and copy of translation of Bennet Riley's certificate of appointment of Ezquer as justice in Monterey.
