Born Marie-Charlotte-Amelie-Augustine-Victoire-Clementine-Leopoldine on May 7, 1840 in Laeken, Belgium. She was the daughter of King Leopold I of Belgium and Louise Marie d' Orleans, eldest daughter of King Louis Philippe of France. After suffering from mental illness following her husband's death in 1867, she died January 1, 1927 near Brussels.
