Title
Redwood Utilization Study. Tree #1029. As this tree fell it was split for a considerable distance. Much of the split was not noticed when the tree was scaled. However, the fire of March 6th crept into the seam and burned away so much that it was laid bare. The fire almost consumed the top piece. This piece was already a loss, but the fire ate more deeply into the larger piece below. The additional cost is equivalent to a plank 6'x24'x22'.
