Redwood Region. Highway about 8 miles south of Crescent City, California. Heavy reproduction of redwood seedlings on disturbed earth on both sides of road. Road completed in late 1934. Both banks heavily covered with seedlings. Note also heavy growth of fire weed (Erechtites prenanthoides) six feet high and very dense. Highway station B196 + 50. See also #6013. 7-16-36 E. F.
