Redwood Region. "Fire column" Tree #1559. On road east of Rockport, 5-6 miles, Mendocino County, California. Tree was used as a spar tree in 1928 by the Finkbine-Guild Lumber Company. Diameter at breast height 70", height 190' (estimated with hypsometer and pacing). Butt was heavily wounded by fire and cables. See also #6012. 7-20-36, E.F.
