Agathon forwards to Patron (personal name) a copy of the letter he received from Mendoros, an official. This letter includes a copy of a letter to Theophilos, givings instructions concerning the collection of dues upon the holdings of cavalry-soldiers. The text is dated to the 4th year [probably of Ptolemy III Euergetes], the 8th of the Egyptian month Pharmouthi (May 28, 243 B.C.), possibly in the Oxyrhynchite Nome.
