Description

The image is a vertical rectangular identification chart featuring rows of black-and-white aircraft silhouettes and illustrations organized by military function. At the top, the bold text reads "FLIGHT IDENTIFICATION CHART of AMERICAN AIRCRAFT" followed by "R.A.F. and FLEET AIR ARM." The chart is divided into categories labeled in the upper left corner of each section: FIGHTERS, DIVE BOMBERS, BOMBERS, and FLYING BOATS. Each entry includes three views of an aircraft: a side-profile illustration, a flying silhouette as seen from below, and a head-on view. The FIGHTERS section at the top displays numerous models including the Mustang, Tomahawk, and Lightning arranged in diagonal rows. Below, the BOMBERS section show larger aircraft such as the Maryland, Baltimore and Liberator. The bottom section, FLYING BOATS, features wide-winged maritime planes like the Catalina and Consolidated. Small text labels identify each specific aircraft model beneath its respective silhouettes. The entire chart is printed on a light-colored background with a red border.
