Description
The image is a World War II-era recruitment or financial appeal poster featuring a stylized map of the world set against a light blue background. The map highlights various landmasses in different colors: Canada, Australia, Great Britain, France, many parts of Africa, and some of Southeast Asia are depicted in red, while other parts of Europe, South America, and Northern Asia are in a light tan or beige. A large portion of the upper half of the poster is occupied by handwritten-style text in black and red script that reads, "nous vaincrons parceque nous sommes les plus forts" (we will win because we are the strongest). Below the map, the bottom third of the poster contains large, bold, sans-serif block lettering in black and white that reads, "SOUSCRIVEZ AUX BONS d'ARMEMENT" (subscribe to armaments bonds). The entire composition is framed by a thin white border, and a color calibration strip is visible along the right edge of the archival photograph.
