The image is a vertical French political poster from 1936 with a red and black color scheme. At the top, large red text reads "POUR LE PAIN LA PAIX ET LA LIBERTÉ," followed by smaller text in the upper right corner that reads "ELECTIONS LEGISLATIVES 1936" and "PARTI COMMUNISTE (S.F.I.C.)." The left side of the poster features four rectangular illustrations in black ink: the first shows a group of frowning men around a table where they talk or argue; the second shows a group of men standing in a street in front of a building, four of them stand and face a fifth, a man with a mustache and a cap who faces them next to a head of a horse wearing blinders; the third depicts a chaotic battlefield with fallen soldiers, explosions, and ruined houses; the fourth shows a caricature of Adolf Hitler in front of a palatial building which emits flames and clouds of smoke. To the right of these illustrations are several paragraphs of black French text organized under headings such as "Le gros banquier," "Le politicien réactionnaire," and "Le marchand de canons." Below the illustrations and text block, a final section of large, bold red text at the bottom reads "VOTEZ COMMUNISTE." The entire poster is divided into sections by thin red and black borders.
