Full title:Before proceeding to the White House for the presentation to President Truman, Sgt. Yeichi Kuwayama shows Dillon Myer, WRA Director, a check for $4300 contributed by Nisei veterans of the 442nd Combat Team for a memorial to their former Commander-in-Chief, Franklin D. Roosevelt. Included are, from left to right: Earl Finch, called the one-man USO, Pfc. George M. Tsujimoto from California, Pfc. Terumi Kato, from Honolulu, Pfc. Jesse Hirata, from Kono, Hawaii, holder of the DSC, Sgt. Kuwayama from Long Island, N.Y., holder of the Silver Star, and Dillon S. Myer. All of the boys have battle stars and purple hearts. The check was presented to President Truman by Sgt.
