Full title:Home life in Chicago can be mighty cozy, says James Kashima, 58-year-old issei from Pasadena, California, who brought his wife and two daughters from Tule Lake to the Midwest in order to find a new job and a new home in the American scheme of life. Mr. Kashima is reading his evening paper and tuning in on his favorite radio program while his older daughter, Margaret, a student at the Evanston Business College, studies her homework. Judging from her smile, she likes the program her father has just tuned in. Mr. Kashima has lived in America since 1908 and was a gardener in California. He came to Chicago in June 1943 to accept a position as houseman at the Edgewater Beach Hotel. With him are his wife, Rin Kashima, and a second daughter, Joy, age 15, who is a sophomore in Senn High School in Chicago. Margaret says she plans to be a secretary when she finishes her business course. Chicago, Illinois.
