Full title:The school band at Palmyra High School is practicing for a forthcoming football game when it will parade and play before the grandstand, its members in their band uniforms. Joshua Shimomura plays the cornet and his brother, Lincoln, the clarinet in the school band and attend rehearsals after school. According to the principal, both boys study well and have made friends. They ride to school on a free school bus from their home in Riverton, N.J. The Shimomura family arrived from Colorado River in August and are now living on the Ritchie farm where Mr. Shimomura assists in the cultivation of fruit. Both the boys work after school on the farm and are paid on an hourly basis. However, the Ritchies are very proud of their boys' activity in the band and encourage them to put their school activities ahead of the farm work.
