Austrian map series, from 1919 to 1938 published by Austria's Kartographisches Institut, successor to the K.u.K. Militärgeographisches Institut of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. Kartographisches Institut staff collaborated with staff at Austria's Bundesamt für Eich- und Vermessungswesen (BAfEuV) to produce the maps. After the Nazi annexation of Austria the Kartographisches Institut and the surveying and mapping staff of BAfEuV were absorbed into the Reichsamt für Landesaufnahme's newly-formed Hauptvermessungsabteilung XIV in Vienna which issued the map series under the title Topographische Karte 1:25.000, Ausgabe Alpen- und Donau-Reichsgaue.

Relief shown variously by contours, hachures and spot heights. Prime meridians: Ferro and Greenwich. Some sheets issued by one of the regional surveying departments of Germany's Reichsamt für Landesaufnahme, the Hauptvermessungsabteilung XIV in Vienna, established in 1938 after the Nazi annexation of Austria. Each sheet is named and numbered individually, e.g.: Sheet 126/1. Altenmarkt -- sheet 154/1. Bad Fusch -- sheet 201/4. Nord. Velden. Various editions, some sheets issued as Aufnahmeblatt and designated Nord or Süd. Others issued as Doppelblatt. Many sheets have original title hand stamped out and new title stamped as: Topographische Karte 1:25.000, Ausgabe Alpen- und Donau-Reichsgaue.
