Coverage is based on 1:75,000 source maps issued 1924-1939 by Kartographisches Institut, Hauptvermessungsabteilung XIV in Wien, Vojenský zeměpisný ústav, Magyar Királyi Állami Térképészet, and Topographische Zweigstelle des Bayerischen Landesvermessungsamts.

Relief shown by hachures on most sheets, by form lines and contours on some sheets. Title devised by cataloger. Source map title varies. Sheets covering Austria and some sheets covering Czechoslovakia lack titles. Composite set with coordinated numbering system issued by the General Staff of the German Army, covering the territory of Austria, Czech Republic, Slovakia, and Hungary. Prime meridians: Ferro and Greenwich. Some sheets with German Gauss-Krüger-Gitternetz grid. Each sheet individually titled and numbered. Some sheets printed in black and white. Includes administrative boundary diagram, index to adjoining sheets, and notes. Sheets which cover southern Czechoslovakia and Hungary have legends in German and Czech or German and Hungarian. Some Czechoslovak or Austrian source maps were reproduced without legends.
