Some issues covering Latin America in 3 sheets or the Western Hemisphere in 5 sheets have varying titles: The Americas 1:5,000,000.--Map of the Americas 1:5,000,000. In some instances, these issues have series designations: Atlas of the Americas. Sheet 1A-[1E] Sheet numbering varies.
Sheets covering the Western Hemisphere are drawn on a bipolar oblique conic conformal projection. Eastern Hemisphere sheets are drawn on "a specially computed Miller oblated stereographic projection system."

Includes glossaries, indexes to adjoining sheets, scale departure diagrams, source notes, and tables of scale-conversion numbers.
