Redwood Region. Highway commission straightening curves above High Rock north of Dyerville, Humboldt County California. The right-of-way has been cleared of trees. The new grade will cover the large tree to left of center about 25-30'. Problem: Will it live? See plots of top, #4825. To be observed 10 years later. E. Fritz, June 1929.

The central tree was buried about 25 ft. at butt acount slopes of new highway grade at High Rock N. of Dyerville, California when road was straightened. To be observed 10 years later. Present top typical dry spike 10' long, a short cone of plump taper. E. Fritz, June 1929
