Title
Saw carriage with log ready for sawing. Setter and dogger on carriage Hill nigger on one side. Simondson log turner on other side of mill where big logs are handled. Also steam loader or log stop, steam lift on deck and canting gear over head. Board pullers lift operated by off-bearer. It lets boards down easily on live rolls. Sawyer operates steam lift with foot. It prevents log leaving carriage. Log turner operated by hand. Carriage provided with automatic offset. When carriage comes back offset recedes. When it goes ahead it comes out. Acts independently of setter. Operated by steam friction. There is 3/4" play on shaft. Front set works driven by transmitted power by rope on one side, steam feed on other. Mill cuts 110,000 board feet a day. Have 8 million feet in the yard from last year. Cut about 25% clear.
