Title
A section of one of the 16-ft. fire lines on Fyfe Lake State Forest, Michigan, through a good stand of natural jack pine reproduction. These lines will eventually surround each 40 acres and there are now 110 miles of them on the 7000-acre Fyfe Lake Forest. They cost $150.00 per mile to build and about $4.00 per mile per year to keep up. Usually two cultivations per year are given with tractor or horses.
