Letters written during the travels of William O. Armsted, as he makes his way from Ohio to California, and then to various mining locations, including Gold Creek, Rough & Ready, and Nevada City. There are many details of his life in the West. One (March 23, 1851) is written on pictorial lettersheet illustrated with vignettes of a miner's life.
